How is Tattoo Parlour waste defined?
According to the Department of Health; tattoo needles and sharps are classed as “hazardous” and must only be disposed of in dedicated sharps receptacles with an orange lid. This is because waste tattoo needles and sharps can cause serious injury and potentially spread diseases or infections of the blood if they are not disposed of correctly.
Other tattoo-related waste is normally classed as offensive/hygiene waste by the Department of Health and should only be disposed of in accordance with the latest, stringent care and safety measures.
Other waste, including used swabs, gloves and towels must be disposed of properly, as improper disposal could lead to a variety of problems for your clients and staff, from skin infections to bacterial diseases, and with serious implications for the reputation of your business.
Kernow Clinical are specialists in the management of all types of waste in tattoo studios, ensuring that you are fully equipped and scheduled to comply fully with the Waste Management regulations.
