How to Use

Using a Controlled Drug Kit is straightforward:

Remove the lid of the kit.
Fill the container with the unwanted medication, ensuring it is no more than half full.
Replace the lid and shake the contents to ensure the denaturing powder coats the medication.
Fill the container to capacity with water.
Shake thoroughly for about 30 seconds. The contents will turn into a semi-solid gel, rendering the medication unusable.
Store the kit in a controlled drugs cabinet for 48 hours after activation.
Dispose of the kit via an authorised medical waste contractor.

Disposal

Once the denaturing process is complete, the kit should be placed in a pharmaceutical bin for disposal. This ensures that the waste is handled in compliance with legal and environmental regulations.
